It is a known fact that women always want to look fashionable whenever they are, that’s why they always make sure to do everything in style. In case you didn’t know they even invented an equestrian discipline just so they can look good and feminine while riding.
This sport is named sidesaddle and it uses a kind of saddle that allows a rider, normally a woman, to sit aside and not astride like you see typically. Of course, this is not a new discipline because Sitting aside has been used since ancient times and increased in European countries in the Middle Ages just that the women could ride horses in skirts and dresses.
This way they could also enjoy riding whilst also looking fashionable and dressed properly. Although it is an ancient sport, nowadays it’s making a comeback in the horse industry. If you ever try it, keep in mind that the saddle is not very straight ahead and that’s why you have to be careful.
It has two handles, a solidified head, and a leaping head, the highest of them is the fixed head, the place where you can place your right knee if you are riding on the left. The most common saddles are the left-hand saddles, but you can also find right-hand saddles as well.
In the video shown below, you will see a team of elegant ladies in the Cheshire countryside riding and manifesting their love for the sidesaddle. We must say that they all look very elegant! Watch the video below for more!
