Creative Rider Delivers A Dressage Performance Different From The Usual Ones

Posted on February 25, 2020 by Horse Spirit

Have you ever watched a dressage performance in your life? I am pretty sure that you have done so. If not in real life, then probably on the internet because there are plenty of performances. If you see them, they are all pretty similar, dressage performances usually aim perfection. All that goes into your mind by watching these performances is the glory and majesty of it, for some of them who are perfectly thought in every single detail, you won’t even believe that they are real.

It takes a huge work to make all the things look perfect. In any other horse discipline, the appearance of the horse or other details might not be the best ones, however, during dressage, people spend hours making them look perfect in the public eye and the same happens with the rider and scenography as well.

To be honest, the dressage performances are a little monotonous sometimes and you might get easily bored and the performers are aware of it, that’s why they try to come up with different performance ideas and that is what the rider in the video below is doing. Jacqueline Brooks, the Canadian Olympian rider, and her loving partner D Niro showed their innovative freestyle dressage at Devon Freestyle.

They’ve finished at 3rd place, and for sure deserved the standing ovation of the audience. People loved their amazing performance, the new “Sound Of Silence” freestyle! Under the lights in the Dixon Oval, Brooks and her 18-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding looked magical. This talented rider wanted to explain how she created the entire routine, and how much she’s been inspired. Her love for horses has been always her biggest inspiration.

A lot of people were upset because they really believed the duo would take the lead but after all, the most important thing in every performance is that the public remembers it. In most of the competitions, the runner ups have shown to be more successful and more wanted by the public. The victory will give you temporary satisfaction but the audience love will give you the permanent one. Please have a look at the video and let us know if you liked the performance or not.
